On July 1, 2026, Whitaker Construction proudly welcomed Dry Creek Structures to the Whitaker family, marking another exciting chapter in our company's continued growth. While acquisitions often focus on expanding services or increasing market reach, this one represents something much bigger—it strengthens our commitment to employee- ownership and creates new opportunities for our customers, our communities, and all of our employee-owners.
More Than an Acquisition
For more than 70 years, we've built a reputation for tackling some of the Intermountain West's most challenging heavy civil and underground utility construction projects. Dry Creek Structures has earned an equally impressive reputation for delivering exceptional bridge construction, structural concrete, water tanks, underground utilities, and excavation work.
By combining our expertise, we're creating a 100% employee-owned company capable of delivering more complete infrastructure solutions than ever before. Together, our teams can take on larger, more complex projects while continuing to provide the quality, safety, and craftsmanship our customers have come to expect. Simply put -- it's The Whitaker Way.
Expanding What We Can Build
With Dry Creek Structures joining Whitaker Construction, our capabilities now include an even broader range of specialized services, including:
Bridge construction
Structural concrete
Water storage tanks
Underground utilities
Excavation and earthwork
Heavy civil infrastructure
These services complement our existing expertise and allow us to provide more comprehensive solutions from the ground up. Whether it's a municipal water project, transportation infrastructure, or large-scale civil development, we're better positioned to serve our customers with one unified team.
“We are excited to integrate Dry Creek Structures into the Whitaker Construction ESOP family. This strategic fit strengthens our capabilities and expands what we can collectively deliver to our customers,” said WC President Brett Nielsen. “What makes this particularly meaningful is that, as an ESOP, our success is literally our people's success. Dry Creek's team joins us as employee-owners aligned with the same incentives and mission that will continue to drive us to Build the Best: People, Communities, and Future.”
The ESOP Difference
While expanded capabilities are exciting, one of the most meaningful parts of this acquisition isn't about equipment or projects—it's about people. After this acquisition was made official, every eligible Dry Creek Structures employee became part of Whitaker's 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), joining hundreds of fellow employee-owners who share in the company's long-term success. Employee-ownership changes the way we work.
When every employee has a personal stake in the company's future, accountability increases, collaboration becomes stronger, and everyone is invested in delivering exceptional results. It's a culture built around ownership, pride, and long-term thinking—not just completing today's project, but building a stronger company for tomorrow.
For our newest employee-owners, this means access to a benefit that has helped countless Whitaker employees build meaningful generational wealth over the course of their careers. It's one more way we're investing in the people who make our success possible.
Stronger Together
The combination of Whitaker Construction and Dry Creek Structures is about more than adding services—it's about bringing together two organizations that value quality workmanship, strong relationships, and doing things the right way. Both companies have built their reputations by putting customers first, prioritizing safety, and taking pride in every project. Those shared values create a strong foundation as we move forward together.
As one team, we'll continue building critical infrastructure throughout the Intermountain West while creating even greater opportunities for our employee-owners.
Looking Ahead
Growth has always been part of our story, but growth only matters when it strengthens the people behind it. By welcoming Dry Creek Structures into our family, we've expanded our capabilities, invested in our workforce, and extended the benefits of total employee-ownership to even more hardworking industry professionals. Together, we're building more than bridges, concrete structures, and underground infrastructure.
We Build the Best: People, Communities, Future.
