Ken Hamson

VP of Water/Waste Water Operations

Our Water/Waste Water Division Manager, Ken, has had a very productive past with Whitaker since he started as laborer 19 years ago. In 2004, he was given the opportunity to become an Assistant Estimator/Project Manager while attending college. “It was during this time that I decided that I wanted to continue my career down the path of Project Management and had a lot of great mentors along the way,” he says. Ken quickly advanced to Project Manager while finishing his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 2009. It was around this time he was asked to be the Project Manager of the Spanish Fork Canyon Pipeline Phase 2 project for Central Utah Water Conservancy District, one of the Whitaker’s largest contracts ever at the time. Ken states, “It was also one of the single most influential projects of my career that propelled me to the next level.” Having been promoted to Senior Project Manager in 2019 and then to S/W Division Manager in 2020, Ken has grown into senior leadership. “The journey has been awesome, and I feel blessed to have been involved in so many cool projects and witness just as many cool projects that I wasn’t directly a part of,” he says. Ken is excited to carry on the culture and legacy of Whitaker that he has experienced during his career. “I am excited to continue to push the business forward the same way I was taught. I am also excited to continue to help others within the organization grow to their full potential and be an advocate for all our employee-owners,” he says. “The culture is what resonates the most with me here, and I am committed to making sure that is maintained.”
